The King of Glory

Revelation 1:6 " And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

Jesus has done two things for us. He has made us kings and priest.

Through Jesus' death on the cross, we can become the true child of God. If we are the children of God the Father, then we belong to the family of God. God our heavenly Father has given us royalty because Jesus died for us on the cross so we could become sons and daughters of God. 2 Cor. 6:18 I will be your Father, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

God has also made us priest. Under the Jewish law, only the priest could offer sacrifices and pray to God the Father for the sins of the people. During the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross, the veil of the Temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. Now we can pray to God the Father and have our prayers answered. This makes us priest before God.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
